Dae-Hyun isn’t a frontlines fighter. He’s not even remotely sure if he could manage to past the test to become a MEKA pilot, not that he’s given much thought to it. A topic that is always pretty much always on his mind if Hana. Through her, he gets an idea of what its like to be on the front lines of combat mostly because he’s constantly worrying about her.

She’s as reckless as she is skilled and he isn’t sure that that makes for a good combination half the time. But she’s also fun and kind. She’s sweet and helpful and interesting. She has good taste in clothes and food (that isn’t junk food) and music. Dae-Hyun always finds himself getting lost in his own thoughts like this and it just reaffirms the fact that he has feelings for her.

He sighs at himself and honestly wants to facepalm for letting his mind wander. Hana is among the most famous people in this country. He already knows he stands no chance with her. That thought alone should squash any feelings that he might have. But..there is that part of him that is always wondering ‘What if’.

He should have really been paying attention to what he was doing as he stood in he break room filling up a cup of instant noodles with hot water. The sound of the water hitting the floor as he overfilled the cup snapped him back to reality.

"Oh-!" He quickly started to scramble to get paper towels to clean it up. Its a lazy day at the base with not much going on. He doesn't know exactly where all the members of the team are, but he figures they are out.

Even if Dae-Hyun wasn't a fighter himself, there were countless times where she would not have gotten as far as she had with such great success without him looking out for her. Even when they were young, she'd always been the reckless one between the two. When she joined MEKA, she was glad that he was right there with her, even if she didn't really show it. In a way, he was her rock and kept her from making stupid mistakes sometimes.

She played into her fame a little bit from time to time -- it was hard not to sometimes -- but over all she knew how the media got. How much they'd put emphasis on a glamorous life that didn't really exist. She liked to celebrate as much as the next person and although she got stupidly stubborn about winning when it came to playing games or winning in general, she much preferred working on her mech with Dae-Hyun. Deep down inside, there were probably times where she'd used that as an excuse for her to spend time with him more; not that she really needed it, though. She would always enjoy her fans and spotlight, but she felt more at ease with Dae-Hyun.

Waking up after a late night the day before, she finally stumbled into the break room, looking for something to eat when she saw him. Bangs pinned up to get it out of her face, she hadn't bothered changing out of her PJs. Letting out a yawn, she glanced over to what was going on. "Hey, are you okay?" she finally asked, also going to grab some paper towels to help clean up. "Don't you think it's a little early for making messes?" she teased playfully, tugging her crop top to pull part of the sleeve up; not that it did much. It slumped back down her shoulder and she figured it was too much work to worry about it.

"Is everyone gone already?" she asked, glancing around after helping him clean up the spill.

Dae-Hyun jumped a little when he heard her voice, but hopefully it wasn’t too noticeable. It was ask if his thoughts had managed to summon her here. He looks over to her and immediately can’t help but be amazed how beautiful she even looks after just getting out of bed.

“I uh..” Yeah, he’d definitely made a mess in here. But Hana is one to talk. She makes messes all times of the day. “Y-Yeah. I’m okay. I just poured a little too much hot water into the noodles.” It’s not the first time he’s done it, but it doesn’t happen too often. Just whenever he lets himself get distracted in his downtime like this. He’ll really need to get around to working on that.

“They took off a couple of hours ago. I don’t think they’ll be back until tonight.” If even then. It really depended on what they got up to while they are gone. They are probably going to try to enjoy any down time that they get today.

“You were in there sleeping for so long that I thought you might have gone along with them.” He figures she probably stayed up late gaming again. He’s sure if he went and checked the VODs on her stream, he’d be able to see just how long she was at it. After they managed to get it all cleaned up, he took the paper towels and threw them into the garbage.

"I guess you'll probably end up gaming some today with your free time?"

She wasn't exactly sure how good-looking she looked right now with the bed head that she was sporting right now. Just put a "I woke up like this" shirt on her and call it good. Messes that he and the others put up with because they love her, right? Friends help friends clean up their messes.

"If I didn't know any better, I'd say you liked the noodles," winking at him with a cheeky grin. How could he not? It had her on it, after all. ...Actually don't answer that. "I gotta enjoy what sleep I can get," she could joke about sleeping too much, but there were times that she didn't seem to get enough. She had a busy life, but she felt like it was fulfilling nonetheless. Going to grab some ramen herself and a Nano Cola...

"Probably," she said with a pause, "...Unless you have any other ideas."

She's 100% okay with dropping any plans she may (and did not actually have yet) to spend time with Dae-Hyun.

Well..if he didn't want noodles or a drink with her on the package, there were definitely other options. There is even some of this brand that he could have gotten that didn't have the famous D.va on the packaging. Was it weird that he only chose it because she's on it? He hopes not.

He's a little caught off guard at her suggesting that she'd spend time with him over playing games. It's not like Hana never hung out with him, though maybe they hadn't gotten to do that as much lately since joining up with MEKA. But he also knows how much she loves her games and he can bet there is one out now that she's probably been looking forward to playing.

"I don't know, I was thinking about watching a movie or going out or something?" Maintenance on their mechs were done last night, which meant he didn't really have much else to do.

Clearly her brand was the way to go. Ramen and soft drink just weren't the same without them. She could always play her games another time. It had been way too long since they'd last had a day to themselves to really hang out lately. Smiling at his suggestions, he couldn't tell while she had her back turned towards him as she was pouring the hot water into her ramen.

"As long as you don't pick a lame movie, I'm game," she teased him as she walked over to join him with her own ramen.

"Okay. So that rules out Hero Of My Storm." He teased. He loves the movie honestly. Though its very much because of who starred in it. He's sure that if it wasn't her, he'd just like the movie, not love it.

"We can check out what is streaming. I think some of the services updated their catalogues today." So there has to at least be one movie up there that they might both be interested in watching.

"I changed my mind. I think I will play games after all," she joked back, fake pouting as she stuck her tongue out at him before taking a bite of her ramen. "I'm sure we'll be able to find something. Although I say we should definitely get some real food if we have the day off," she shrugged. Not that ramen was bad nor would she need to eat again so soon, but that wasn't really ideal. They could have ramen any day. They may as well get something while they can.

Something more substantial wouldn't be bad. "We could order something in." They'd have to let the guards know they are ordering something in, though.

"Unless you want to go out together to pick it up?" Either was fine by him. "I know there are a few new places that opened up near by. I heard one guard saying one of the places has some great Steam Buns, it's their Grandma's recipe apparently. But one of the other guards said they weren't very good."

"Hmmm... I don't know. Steamed buns sound pretty good to me," Hana shrugged as she finished up her ramen. "I guess there's no choice. It looks like we'll just have to see which guard was right, now won't we?" giving him a cheeky grin.

"Although... later. For now, we should figure out what to do for now," she said. Yes, their day to hang out starts now. If she has to change to leave the base, she'll deal with that when the time comes.
